Hardy County Volunteer Reader Orientation
400 N Main Street Moorefield, WV 26836
Read Aloud West Virginia’s mission is to motivate children to WANT to read, because motivation is the critical first step in developing any skill. We work to change the literacy culture of West Virginia by keeping reading material in the hands and on the minds of our state’s children…
Our trained volunteer readers serve as a commercial for reading and send a powerful message that reading is an enjoyable lifetime activity.
We provide students with books through a variety of programs because access to books is essential to raising a generation of readers.
We help teachers create text-rich, reader friendly schools through free events, resources, book distributions, and volunteer readers.
We educate on the importance of reading to children from infancy into adolescence, the value of a print-rich environment, and more!
One time orientation for new volunteer readers. The orientation will give an overview of the Read Aloud program. Suggestions are made to make the read aloud experience a good one for readers and students.
If planning to attend, please register with the state office at 304-345-5212 or mhoyer@readaloudwestvirginia.org
